Foot Traffic on Newly Hydroseeded Lawns
Keep Off the GrassAfter your hydroseeding project is complete. Foot traffic should be kept to a minimum to prevent disruption of the seeds that are attempting to establish roots. The first 2 weeks are a
critical point in the development of your new lawn as the seed is
germinating and growing. Excessive foot traffic (pets and
people) may damage the newly emerging seedlings, pulling them up by their tender roots or crushing them.
Heavy traffic on your new seeded lawn should be avoided until it looks lush and green. Traffic can leave foot prints and depressions in soft wet soil.
Once the new lawn is established (usually 5-6 weeks) you can resume normal use of the lawn area, although heavy foot traffic is discouraged for the first few months.
